Who loves DIY? I do!
Why? Because it’s hands on creative, and usually includes saving some money and upcycling or recycling items…which is great for the environment! The experience of creating your own decor items is priceless…you get to exude your creative energy and create something custom, that is made with love for your home. DIY projects also make great gifts. One of a kind and made with love – for cheaper then the store’s prices – sounds good to me! Im excited to have been a part of Habitat for Humanity’s DIY series and had a BLAST helping the guests create beautiful serving trays out of old cabinet doors.
I will be hosting another DIY Tray Event at the Home Show, Saturday February 22nd from 11am-5pm. Crown Wallpaper has donated lot’s of beautiful samples to use, and we will have a great selection of paints, handles and other decor goodies to customize with!
I will also be hosting another DIY event at the Habitat ReStore in Burnaby on Sat. Febuary 16th – I will be finalizing on which of these three projects I will be doing by Jan 31st – let me know which one you would want to make! I’m leaning towards the hallway organizer 🙂
PS. If you have never been to the ReStore – GO! They have so much amazing stuff and all proceeds go to helping families who need help with their homes. It’s an amazing organization and there are lot’s of great products to update your home with.
